Monument honors Civil Rights legend from North Carolina

68 years ago, North Carolina native Sarah Keys earned her first leave while in the Army's Woman Corp. Mrs. Keys boarded a bus headed from Trenton, New Jersey to Washington, North Carolina. Dressed in her military uniform, Keys settled into a seat midway on the bus.
