Today we are starting our third annual Liberty Games event

This is where our independent living communities from all across

the Southeast travel into one of our communities and compete

in about 16 different events

Hey it's from the the concept behind this was to

really create camaraderie and build relationships between our communities across

state lines across city lines

We've seen relationships come to fruition and friendships begin from

different communities meeting one another at the Liberty Games

Well Liberty does a great job ensuring that we have

the resources to provide our residents with the best care

the best activities the most amazing programs

It's very important to ensure that your physical health your

emotional health your spiritual well being your social social well

being are all taken care of

We hope that our residents will find interests whether in

wellness or life enrichment to stay active not just with

their bodies but with their minds

We want them out and about and meeting new people

and making friends and making connections with the community

So when someone moves into any of our communities we

do a full assessment we do a Wellness assessment and

a life enrichment

Assessment where we can really establish what are their hobbies

what do they enjoy doing Who is this person moving

in and better yet we can also kind of identify

maybe ways that we can assist them growing in their

hobbies

What kinds of new things might they enjoy We have

something every day several times a day just show up

You'll meet people you'll make friends you'll find out that

you can do things you never imagined you could do

One of the wonderful things about the Liberty Games is

the people you get to meet

And every time we get together we have an opportunity

to make new friends

I think of it as like being on a cruise

ship and never leaves port

There's something going on every day to stay active as

you get older I think becomes even more important especially

in independent living

We wanna keep our residents as independent as we can

So to keep them moving to provide as many opportunities

for exercise as we can so they can maintain their

independence and keep doing the things they wanna do if

it's bike riding or hanging out with their grandchildren or

competing in the Liberty Games

My prediction who takes home the most gold medals has

to be Carolina Bay

The Templeton of Cary is once again gonna take home

the most gold medals

Kathy

Well the director of Templeton I love you Kathy but

uh we're coming for you Caroline Bay

Is coming for you

We hope it's us this year

Our our cheer is we're great and we're bold and

we're here to win the gold

Everyone is so excited this year

I've got everyone's doing pep rallies and they are all

um expecting to bring home the gold this year

So I can't wait to see who does it
