Experts offer new screening guidance for genetic mutations that lead to cancer

The BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations account for 5 to 10 percent of breast cancer cases in the United States and 15 percent of cases of ovarian cancer. Last week, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force published its recommendation for screening the population for this genetic disorder.
