Band of Oz: High school band from 1960s makes NC music history

Band of Oz started off as 'The Avengers' in the late 1960s in Greenville, NC. They played sock hops and parties part-time, until going full-time in the 1970s. They toured major music venues and weddings for decades, playing a huge role in shaping the culture of beach music before being inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
