Victim shot multiple times during carjacking in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police said a person was shot multiple times during a carjacking that happened Thursday night.

Police responded to the 400 block of Regency Drive at 8:19 p.m. to a report of a person shot. Investigators said the victim, who has not been identified, had been shot multiple times in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Police said the suspect approached the victim as he was getting out of his vehicle, shot him and then stole the victim’s vehicle.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives said the suspect is a Black man who is 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds. He was wearing a multi-colored cloth mask and a black hooded sweatshirt. He was armed with a gun.

The victim’s stolen vehicle is a burgundy 2014 Hyundai Sonata, bearing the NC license plate HFP-8648.
