Updated: Veterans Day free & discounted offers

On Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2014, many area businesses are thanking veterans by offering free meals, free haircuts, grocery discounts and more! Most locations are also extending the offers to those currently in the military.

As always with offers like these, they are available at participating locations. Not every store will be participating so you may want to call ahead to verify your store is taking part in the promotion.

FREE OFFERS

Applebee’s: On 11/11, Veterans and active duty military will receive a free entrée. Beverage not included. ID required. See the details on their website.

Bob Evans: Veterans and active duty members can enjoy free all-you-can-eat hotcakes on 11/11. See the details on their website.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill: Active military and Veterans will receive a free appetizer though 11/11 at participating locations. With proof of service - military ID or in uniform.. Valid 11/6/2014 - 11/11/2014 according to the e-mail I received.

Denny's: On 11/11, from 5 am - 12 noon, Active, non-active and retired military can enjoy a free Build Your Own Grand Slam meal. Dine-in only. See more information on their website.

Golden Corral: on Monday, November 17 (NOT 11/11), Any person who has served in the US Military (retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserves), will receive a free dinner from 5 pm – 9 pm. No ID required. Dine-in only. See all the details on their website.

Great Clips: On 11/11, Military members who visit Great Clips will receive either a free haircut or a free haircut card to redeem by Dec. 31, 2014.

While supplies last. US Salons only. AND customers (non-military) who stop in for a service at any Great Clips salon in the United States get a free haircut card to give to any veteran. The free haircut cards are redeemable by all active, inactive, retired and reserve members of the military from Nov. 11 to Dec. 31, 2014. See more information on their website.

Hands On Health: Free 15 minute chair massage on November 11 with ID. No appointment necessary. No purchase required. Located in Cary. See details and location on their website.

IHOP: IHOP restaurants will be offering Veterans free Red, White and Blue pancakes from 7AM-7 PM at participating locaitons only. Dine in only. Valid ID required. Contact your local IHOP to see if they are participating. I did verify that the Cary location was participating.

Jessica's Donuts: On Veteran's Day, at Jessica's Handmade Donuts in Garner (Timber Drive and Aversboro), all active, reserve, retired military receive a free plain glazed doughnut. Show a Military ID Card, or other proof of service. See more information on their website.

Krispy Kreme: Veterans and active duty military personnel will be given a free doughnut and small coffee. No ID required. No purchase necessary. Limit 1 per person. See more details on their website.

Lone Star Steakhouse: Enjoy a Free Starter This Veterans Day, November 11th, at participating locations.

McCormick & Schmick’s: On Sunday, November 9 (NOT on 11/11), Veteran’s are invited to enjoy a free meal from a set menu found on their website. Reservations are suggested. Military ID required. Only available for dine-in.

Menchie’s: Veteran’s and active duty members receive a free 6 oz frozen yogurt on 11/11.

Milton's Pizza and Pasta: All Veterans and Active Duty Military are welcome to a free entree or free lunch buffet on 11/11/14.

Olive Garden: On Tuesday, November 11, Olive Garden is offering Veterans and active members of the military a complimentary entrée with ID. Choose from the set menu located on their website.

On the Border: Veteran’s and active duty members can enjoy a free Create Your Own Combo Meal on 11/11.

Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin Onion and a beverage on 11/11/14. Military ID required. Military members also receive 15% off from 11/12/14 - 12/31/14. See their website for more details.

PDQ: Veterans and active duty military in uniform or with military ID receive three free chicken tenders or a free sandwich on 11/11. See more information on their website.

Red Lobster: Veterans and active-duty military will receive a free appetizer from a specific menu from Monday, November 10 until Thursday, November 13.

Sheetz: Free lunch for Veterans on November 11th all day. Get a 6" turkey sub and regular fountain drink at participating locations.

Smokey Bones: Veterans and active Military eat free on 11/11.

Starbucks: Veterans, active members and spouses get a free tall coffee at participating locations.

Texas Roadhouse: Active and former military will receive a free meal and drink from a set menu on 11/11 from 11 am - 2 pm. See more information on their website.

Texas Steakhouse & Salon: Free meal to all Veterans 11/11. They also offer 10% discount everyday to all Veterans and active duty military.

T.G.I. Friday's: Veteran's and active duty military receive free lunch on 11/11 from 11 am - 2 pm with military ID. Select menu options at participating locations only. Dine in only.

DISCOUNTS

Hooters: All veterans and active-duty military personnel can enjoy a free entrée with any drink purchase by presenting a military ID or proof of service at any Hooters location across the country. The free entrée is up to $10.99 with a drink purchase. No coupon required. See more information on their press release.

JoAnn Fabric Store: 20% off the total purchase with valid military ID from Sunday, 11/9 - Tuesday, 11/11.

Kangaroo Express: On Veteran’s Day, 11/11, active military and veterans can purchase a grill item for 25-cents. Must present military I.D, One per guest, while supplies last.

Red, Hot and Blue: Buy 1 meal and 2 drinks and get another meal free with military ID printable coupon. Valid at Raleigh and Winston-Salem location. Valid 11/10 - 11/12/14.

Rocky Top Hospitality restaurants: On Tuesday, November 11th, treat a veteran or any active duty military personnel to a free meal at any Rocky Top Hospitality restaurant. Invite an active or retired military friend or family member out to eat and they receive a free entree with your purchase of an entree. Dean’s Seafood Grill in Cary, Twisted Fork in North Raleigh and The Daily Planet Cafe in downtown Raleigh are all participating in this offer. See more information on their website.

Staples: Active duty personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans and immediate families receive 10% off from 11/9 - 11/15/14. Must present valid military ID.

Thrift 2 Gift: On Tuesday, November 11th, Veteran’s and current military with ID will get 25% off entire purchase up to $100, and proceeds from the daylong sale will go to Veteran’s Helping Veteran’s, a nonprofit organization based in Durham. Grocery Store Discount Offers:

Food Lion: On Tuesday 11/11, Food Lion will offer a 10% discount off your entire shopping visit to active, retired, & honorably discharged military. Harris Teeter: Veterans receive 11% off the total purchase on 11/11/14.
