Vance County man charged with killing cousin
A Vance County man was charged Wednesday in the shooting death of his cousin, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedWilliam Keith Wade, 53, was shot once in the head in the driveway of 318 Horseshoe Bend Road shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday and died at Maria Parham Hospital, authorities said.
Michael Elmo Wade, 50, of 490 Horseshoe Bend Road, was charged with first-degree murder and was being held Thursday in the Vance County Jail with no bond.
Authorities said a brief altercation between William and Michael Wade, who were cousins, escalated into gunfire.
Michael Wade surrendered to Vance County deputies at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.
