Va. man indicted in Southern Pines rape

Southern Pines, N.C. — Editor's Note: Charges against Cohrs were voluntarily dismissed in 2014 and his record was expunged in October 2017.
A grand jury indicted a 25-year-old Virginia man for a rape investigated by Southern Pines police.
Philip Duncan Cohrs, 25, of 21216 McFayden Square #106 in Sterling, Va., surrendered to Southern Pines police Thursday. Corhs faces one charge of second-degree rape.
Police received a report about the rape on July 1. After an investigation, a Moore County grand jury indicted Cohrs.
Cohrs was being held in the Wake County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Nov. 17.
