Did you know you can get a heads up about mail being delivered to you each day?

RALEIGH, N.C. — Did you know you can get a heads up about mail being delivered to you each day?

Informed Delivery, from the United States Postal Service, has been available nationwide since last year, but relatively few people know about it.

When you sign up, the U.S. Postal Service emails images of letter-sized mail being delivered to your home each day.

You get the notification before 9 a.m. The service also lets you track packages and add instructions for your mail carrier.

Officials hope the service will help reduce the growing problem of mail theft, but it's also helpful if you're concerned mail is missing.

You can sign up through the website or app, then get a letter in the mail verifying your enrollment. The service is free

Multiple members of a household can sign up, but everyone sees all the mail delivered to that address. The names are not separated.
