GARNER, N.C. — A gas leak closed a portion of U.S. Highway 70 in Garner for the last stretch of the Thursday morning commute.
Before 8:45 a.m., the westbound lanes of U.S. 70 were closed between McCormick Street and Timber Drive.
A spokesperson for Dominion Energy said a gas line was struck by third-party workers unaffiliated with Dominion. By 9:30 a.m., the flow of gas had been secured.
The road reopened by 10:15 a.m.
Sky 5 video showed emergency responders at the scene working to secure the leak.
