looters have taken over the WalMart. Your own sky bow road crowd has begun to disperse. It's not as wild as police officers go by with their sirens and lights flashing. But this is the low marks on Sky Bow Road and Fayetteville, and they're still people you might give a C in our video running toward the front door. You see them running inside now, going into the store and stealing merchandise. When I got here 15 20 minutes ago, I saw people walking out with a running out, running out with big screen TV's. They have ransacked the garden center. They've thrown a bunch of items onto the ground from the lawn and garden centre. Things are broken over there and still going inside the store and running out with merchandise. This is a long march on Skylar Road, about 1/4 of a mile 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the Cross Street mall where looters went inside the J. C. Penney around 10 30 tonight and came out with armloads of clothes and other merchandise. Now they it's the Walmart. And a little while ago, just before we came on the ear, a bunch of police cruisers went by Sky Bow wrote on sky bow road with sirens and lights flashing. Not sure where they were going, but they were not coming here way. Have you still hear me? Okay. I want to make sure I'm established communication. Okay. Okay. Got got it. Because my i f b the communication my year is going in and out. So I just wanna make sure with Walmart on Sky Bow Road in the scene of looting of the last 30 minutes, people, I don't I've seen some people tearing out food parking lot people have done relates behind me way moved out of the lane of traffic here because it could be dangerous. These people coming through with your vehicles and hot dog in it and tearing out through the parking lot, driving fast on the way out of here. So I don't know if there might get another place tonight. It doesn't know how long this is gonna go on through the night here in Fayetteville hoping that things were taming or tampering down, but it looks like the last half hour They revved back up and hit this Wal Mart in lots of stuff stolen from the store on Sky Bow Road. Yeah, right. And it all started here of this afternoon before three small ground. A small crowd gathered at Cross Creek Mall and then they made their way here and they had a peaceful assembly. You're on the edge of the parking lot about where I'm standing, and they marched peacefully down sky bow road to the mall and then came back here in. Protesters at that time were calling for a peaceful demonstration. They did not want this to, to devolved into rioting into property damage and vandalism that we have seen played out tonight. That's what has happened here in the Walmart, where demonstration began peacefully many hours ago, is now a riot and is now colluding. Um, and as I pointed out at the Cross Street mall where a peaceful demonstration unfolded this afternoon is also where a bunch of looting happened a couple of hours ago. It was it was just a scene of chaos there, with looters running in, and it carries our lows stuff. And that's what we've seen here at Walmart to saw looters coming out with big boxes of flat screen TVs. No, no, I have not seen any police officers here on the property. When I showed up, I guess it was 1/2 hour ago it did not see a police presence. And pardon me is I'm working on my ear piece of voices going in and out a little bit. So I just wanna make sure maintain communication with you. So bear with me. When I got here, I saw no police on the scene on the property of Walmart. Just just rioters going in and out of the store, running as fast as they could inside, just rushing in through the front door and running down the aisles. And in fact, Michael Jordan, life partner here a little bit. Show you what's happening at the front door. Wal Mart. People are still going in and out. I see. I see people walking and running around in the score. Just they have free reign of the place. They are going in without any hindrance at all. No police presence here that nearly police are holding back. Attn. Moment and yes, Julie, before we went on the year saw a bunch of police cruisers go by on Scarlett Road with lights flashing in and I don't know where they were going. I don't know what their destination was here at Walmart. Leaders are still at it. They're still running in and out of the store. Yeah, Cross Street mall. When they left, they were running out of that. They were getting into their cars and peeling out in the parking lot, skidding, driving fast, reckless. A lot of them were driving recklessly. Good morning. I'm meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner New. This morning, we have a level two risk for severe storms from the triangle area southward for today. The best chance of storms is going to start mid to late afternoon and continue into the evening. We do have a level one risk in our northern county. So this is a W RL weather alert day. The biggest threat from these storms is likely to be wind damage, but we could see a few isolated tornadoes. You may remember yesterday, we did have a number of tornado warnings in our southern counties. We did end up with some wind there but no tornado damage. So that was definitely good news. D Doppler 5000 Radar is quiet this morning, but there could be a few isolated showers that start to work their way in across the area this morning. But we're not likely to see storms until mid to late afternoon that will continue into almost midnight or so damaging winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes would be the biggest threat. And again, that level two risk is going to be from the triangle area southward along the I 40 Corridor and south for the most part, of course, you can see that level two risk, the level one risk making this a w weather alert day. We have a warm front this morning that's down to the south producing a few thunderstorms in South Carolina and then some light rain along it as well. And that may lift up into our area as we get through the morning. But it would be later this afternoon before we ended up with any severe threat. Our storm reports from yesterday, you can see the gray circles. Those are all straight line wind damage reports and we did have a handful of those down in the sand hills in the areas that we saw those tornado warnings yesterday evening. D up to 5000 radar again, looking quiet this morning, but we may see a few sprinkles later on. We had heavy rain yesterday around the triangle officially, it was RDU is close to an inch of rain, but we saw some much higher totals in some other places. Fayetteville was closer to a half an inch right there in the city, but it was closer to three inches in some places. South Hill ended up at a little over two. Here's a look at some of those rainfall totals about 2.5 in Hillsboro, a few Kuwait about two inches, Rocky Mount Fort Bragg, about an inch and a half. So again, we do have that level two risk for severe storms. This afternoon and evening, make sure that you have your alerts turned on on the W APP and it will let you know if there is any severe weather ahead of your way. Here's a look at the afternoon on Futurecast. We'll start there at lunchtime, a few isolated showers this morning and starting at around three or four o'clock, we have the potential for some cells to develop and those will continue on through the evening, tapering off around midnight. Another thing that you may run into this morning is some patchy fog. We're starting to see some of that develop across the area. Temperatures will be in the 60 s as you're heading out the door and again, visibility in spots may be a little on the lower side. We will see a mild afternoon, almost 80 degrees in Raleigh, 77 in Durham, 83 for the high in Fayetteville.
