RALEIGH, N.C. — First responders found a 6-year-old girl unconscious but breathing after she was pulled from a swimming pool Saturday night.

The girl was pulled from a pool at Chandler Ridge Apartments, off Fayetteville Road in Raleigh, around 8 p.m.

She was breathing when she was rescued and then taken to WakeMed Children’s Hospital.

While the girl’s condition was not known, a sheriff’s deputy on the scene said he thought she would recover.

Authorities are investigating. Officials did not say whether adults were with the girl when she went underwater.
