UNC professor recognized as one of nation's experts on breast cancer
A professor with UNC Lineberger is being called one of the nation's top 10 experts in breast cancer.
Posted — UpdatedCHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A professor with UNC Lineberger is being called one of the nation's top 10 experts in breast cancer.
Dr. Lisa Carey was recognized by Expertscape, an online database that assesses and ranks the expertise and contributions of physicians and medical institutions worldwide. She was the only breast cancer expert in North Carolina or the southeast United States to earn the honor.
WRAL worked with Dr. Carey in 2019 for a story on her leadership within the Susan G. Komen organization.
The rankings are based on a review of thousands of medical journal articles going back to 2010.
