UNC offers Kings Mountain all-state edge rusher Curtis Simpson

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is the latest to offer Kings Mountain standout Curtis Simpson. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound athlete was named second team all-state as an edge rusher in the 2022 HighSchoolOT All-State football team.

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is the latest to offer Kings Mountain standout Curtis Simpson. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound junior was named second team all-state as an edge rusher in the 2022 HighSchoolOT All-State football team.

Simpson announced the news to his Twitter account on Monday night.

The defensive end/outside linebacker is considered a 3-star prospect by the major recruiting services. On3 has Simpson ranked as the No. 14 player in North Carolina in the class of 2024.

Simpson put up ridiculous numbers in the 2022 season. He was credited with 74 solo tackles, 36 tackles for a loss, 23 sacks, an interception that was returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Appalachian State University, Duke University, East Carolina University, Liberty University, the University of Mississippi, Vanderbilt University, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia University are the other schools that have offered Simpson.
