CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill journalism students are getting a state-of-the-art news studio for next semester, and Tuesday's unveiling came with a surprise.

The studio in the Curtis Media Center is named for Capitol Broadcasting Company CEO Jim Goodmon in a nod to his contributions to the school. The official name is the James F. Goodmon Studio.

The control room will not only help students, but the ACC when it produces sports coverage at the university.
