UNC football helmets, equipment stolen

Campus police are trying to identify the men who took football helmets and other equipment Oct. 21 from the Frank H. Kenan Football Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Campus police are trying to identify men who took football helmets and other equipment Oct. 21 from the Frank H. Kenan Football Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

School officials said two football helmets, T-shirts and other items of clothing were stolen. The helmets are worth $600 total, official said. No uniforms were taken. 

Police are searching for two men shown on surveillance video walking through Kenan that day.

Anyone with information about the thefts or the men in the video should call Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515 or UNC Police Detective Matt Dodson at 919-962-8176. Call may remain anonymous.
