UNC Charlotte shooting victim, Apex native, shows off new tattoo

The UNC Charlotte student from Apex who was one of the victims of the UNC Charlotte shooting on April 30 is showing off some new ink.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The UNC Charlotte student from Apex who was one of the victims of the UNC Charlotte shooting on April 30 is showing off some new ink.

Drew Pescaro continues to show progress toward full recovery after he was injured in the shooting, which killed two and injured four others. The 19-year-old was released from Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte in late May but continues rehab.

Last week on Twitter, Pescaro showed off a new tattoo on his left bicep. The tattoo says “NOT AFRAID 4-30-19.” It is in black stencil with the date below the words.
Pescaro has been active since the shooting. Drew Pescaro with HornetsHe got to be an honorary employee for two days with the Charlotte Hornets. He tweeted he received the "Official Hornets Scholarship." He returned to UNC Charlotte on June 20 for the first time since the shooting,

Trystan Andrew Terrell, 22, is still in the Mecklenburg County Jail without bond after he was charged with two counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, possessing and firing a weapon on educational property and assault with a deadly weapon. A motive for the shooting remains unknown.
