CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A fraternity at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte has been suspended after a student fell out of the window of a party bus.

Kappa Sigma Fraternity was suspended Thursday by their national organization while an investigation into the death of Polly Miranda Rogers takes place.

Authorities said the 20-year-old student fell out of an emergency window while riding on a party bus rented by the fraternity on Tuesday. Authorities said she landed on the roadway and was run over by several vehicles after she fell.

Police on Thursday said multiple people on the bus were drinking alcohol at the time of the incident.

The bus was taking students from campus to uptown Charlotte.
