DURHAM, N.C. — Two men were killed by gunfire in Durham over the weekend only blocks apart.

On Friday night, officers found 28-year-old Saquan Facyson shot to death at Holloway Street and North Briggs Avenue at around 7:30 p.m.

About a mile away on Sunday, officers found Omar Ravon Perry, 23, suffering from a gunshot wound on the 1200 block of Morning Glory Avenue. Perry later died at a local hospital, officials said.

So far, the Durham police have not made any arrests or charges related to these two shootings.

Shootings in Durham were down 15 percent from a year ago through Nov. 13, according to Durham Police Department statistics. But shooting deaths were up by more than 50 percent, and the city has already broken its record for the most homicides in a single year.
