Two Wake County men face murder charges in December shooting

Wake County sheriff's investigators have charged two men with murder in connection with the death of a man shot at an Apex home in December.

APEX, N.C. — Wake County sheriff's investigators have charged two men with murder in connection with the death of a man shot at an Apex home in December.

Authorities issued arrest warrants Wednesday for Terrel Jamal Bankhead and Christopher Calvin Rogers after the victim, Dynomite Dwight Gooch, 23, died.

Gooch was shot in the chest Dec. 17 at the home on Old Smithfield Road in Apex.

Christopher Calvin Rogers, 24, of 3516 Bakers Alley, Apex, and Terrel Jamal Bankhead, 23, of 105 Braxberry Way, Holly Springs, were each charged with murder and felony conspiracy.

Authorities had previously charged them with attempted murder, attempted robbery, first-degree burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
