Two Wake County daycares listed by state with COVID clusters

Two daycares in Wake County are reporting clusters of the coronavirus. Cases of the coronavirus were reported at Kreepers and Krawlers Daycare and Goddard School of Holly Springs.

RALEIGH, N.C. — CLARIFICATION: Although the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services listed Goddard School of Holly Springs among daycares with clusters on Sept. 7 when this story was first reported, those state numbers are only updated weekly. Goddard School of Holly Springs was removed from the cluster list by the Wake County Department of Health on Sept. 3, and the update had just not been published by the state. WRAL reported based on the state report. After getting more detail from a Goddard School representative, WRAL removed a mention of the school from this story.

A daycare in Wake County is reporting clusters of the coronavirus. Six children and four staff members tested positive for COVID-19 at Kreepers and Krawlers Daycare.

According the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, these are the only two facilities in Wake County with ongoing coronavirus clusters.

Right now, there are 19 child care facilities with active coronavirus clusters in the state.

One death has been associated with a cluster, according to the department of health. The death is linked to Grace Filled Beginnings in Washington County. Ten total cases were reported, and one staff member died.
