Two truck drivers killed in fiery crash on I-40 near Garner
Two drivers were killed Thursday morning in a fiery crash on Interstate 40 East near Garner.

GARNER, N.C. — Two drivers were killed Thursday morning in a fiery crash on Interstate 40 East near Garner.
A witness told WRAL News the driver of a pickup truck crossed over the median into the eastbound lanes, hitting a garbage truck head-on.
Both drivers died at the scene.
I-40 East was closed before 4:30 a.m. near U.S. Highway 70 and Exit 309 at the Johnston County line. Westbound traffic was still moving, but a few lanes were shut.
