Two soldiers from Fort Bragg killed in Afghanistan

Two paratroopers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg were killed in Afghanistan Nov. 22, the Army said.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Two paratroopers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg were killed in Afghanistan Nov. 22, the Army said.

Sgt. James Nolen and Private 1st Class Marcus Tynes of Company C, 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th BCT, 82nd Abn. Div. died when their vehicle struck an IED, the Army said.

Nolen, 25, of Alvin, Texas, was serving in his second deployment to Afghanistan. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Anne Nolen, his stepson, William Flathman, his father, Walter Nolen, and his mother, Kimberly Roberts.

Tynes, 19, of Moreno Valley, Ca., was in his first deployment to Afghanistan. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Dana and Bruce Atlas, and his stepbrother Johanas Atlas.
