Two separate shootings reported in Durham

Police said the shooting happened in the 1100 block of Briar Rose around 5 p.m.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating two separate shootings in Durham on Sunday night.

Police said the first shooting happened in the 1100 block of Briar Rose Lane around 5 p.m.

A man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.

Police said the shooter fled in a older, damaged white Nissan Maxima.

About two hours later, Durham police were called to a separate shooting on Shannon Road.

They believe it was an attempted carjacking. A man was shot before three people ran from the scene.

The victim was expected to survive.

Both shootings remained under investigation on Sunday night.
