— Lee County sheriff's deputies on Thursday arrested two Sanford men suspected in at least nine breaking-and-entering cases.

A detective spotted the suspects loading something into the trunk of a car that matched the description of one used in a series of recent break-ins.

Upon searching the vehicle, the detective found guns and coins that were reported stolen in recent break-ins.

Christopher Jay Hill, 20, of 4135 Oak Crest Drive, and Phillip Howard Fortune, 16, of 408 Charlotte Ave., face charges of breaking and entering, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods. More charges are pending, the sheriff's office said.
