Two persons of interest sought in Rocky Mount shooting

Police want to talk to two people in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man on Friday night.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Police want to talk to two people in connection with a fatal shooting.

Amir Anderson, 24 of Rocky Mount, was shot twice in the front yard of his home at 719 Branch St. shortly before 8 p.m. Friday. He died from the gunshot wounds.

Rocky Mount police investigators said they are seeking two people of interest in the case: Kevin Daryl "Kiki" Harper, 47, and Jason Bernard Hicks, 26.

Harper and Hicks are not named as suspects in Anderson's death.

Residents say the area is known for illegal drug sales, but police said they do not have a motive in the shooting.
