Two people escape unharmed in north Raleigh house fire

The fire took about 15 minutes for crews to extinguish the flames and there was smoke damage to the inside of the home.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two people made it out uninjured as a home in north Raleigh caught fire Thursday night.

Before 9:15 p.m., the Raleigh Fire Department responded to a home on Stannary Place off Leesville Road.

The fire focused on an attached storage closet to the house. It took about 15 minutes for crews to extinguish the flames and there was smoke damage to the inside of the home.

The cause is still under investigation.
