Two of three suspects in doughnut shop slaying in custody

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has two of three suspects in the shooting death of a doughnut shop worker in custody.

SPRING LAKE, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has two of three suspects in the shooting death of a doughnut shop worker in custody.

Patrick King, 18, turned himself in Tuesday morning, and deputies arrested Luis Marquez-Lopez, 19, on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The third suspect, Angel Bonilla, 18, is still at large.

All three have been charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.

Three masked men robbed Donut Connection, 104 S. Bragg Blvd., at about 4 a.m. Sunday and killed Ranesh Rai, 66, who worked in the store, authorities said.

Rai's sister, who was working with him, and a customer also were in the store at the time of the robbery. The three robbers escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, authorities said.
