PORTLAND, OR — Two people were killed and two others were injured in a violent crash in north Portland late Wednesday.

The Portland Police Bureau said they arrived at the scene of the crash on North Columbia Boulevard near North Swift Court around 10:47 p.m.

Police said 29-year-old Amanda Nicole Erickson of Portland was driving a 2001 Mercedes 500 westbound on Columbia when she attempted to turn left across the eastbound lanes of traffic.

Lyabov Prokhorova, 19, of Portland, was driving a 2001 BMW 330 eastbound on Columbia and struck the passenger side of the Mercedes, according to investigators.

Two passengers in the Mercedes were killed in the crash. They were identified as 22-year-old Brandon Levison and 23-year-old Donell Lee Wilkins, both of Portland.

Erickson was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to police. Prokhorova was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Police said preliminary evidence indicates Erickson was impaired by alcohol while Prokhorova was driving with a suspended license.

Once the investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for review and consideration of criminal charges.

Columbia Boulevard was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash scene.

Police initially reported the incorrect age of the BMW driver, but later corrected that information.
