Two men killed by lightning in Wilmington while clearing storm debris
Two men were killed after being struck by lightning in Wilmington on Wednesday morning while cleaning up debris from Hurricane Isaias, police said.
Posted — UpdatedWILMINGTON, N.C. — Two men were killed after being struck by lightning in Wilmington on Wednesday morning while cleaning up debris from Hurricane Isaias, police said.
Ralph Thomas "Tom" Wallace, 77, and friend Moo Saw Kefauver, 42, were struck at about 11:50 a.m. while they were cutting up tree limbs outside Wallace's home in the Bradley Creek area, police said.
A nearby house also was damaged by lightning, which sparked an attic fire, but no one else was injured.
