Two men from Massachusetts facing drug charges in Nash County

Two men from Massachusetts were arrested and are facing drug charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 95.

NASHVILLE, N.C. — Two men from Massachusetts were arrested and are facing drug charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 95.

Jaylyn Jackson, 23, of Foxboro, Mass., and Richard Gonzalez, 22, of Boston, were arrested during the traffic stop. Both were charged with level III trafficking in heroin, maintain a vehicle as a place for a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance.

Gonzalez and Jackson each received a $275,000 secured bond and had their first appearance set in Nashville District Court Tuesday. Both were being held in the Nash County Detention Center.

The traffic stop happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Monday near the 129.5-mile marker. K9 Pinka was utilized, which resulted in a probable cause search of the vehicle driven by Gonzalez. There were 202 grams of raw heroin and 14 grams of cocaine recovered from concealed areas in the vehicle.
