On Wednesday, the Wake County Sheriff's Office arrested two suspects connected to five robberies.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged both 20-year-old De’aunti Jermaine Lucas and 19-year-old Michael Frantz Malek Engles with robbery with a firearm and felony conspiracy.

Additional charges are possible.

Mitchell's Food Mart in Zebulon was robbed at gunpoint in January. Surveillance cameras captured the robbery, and deputies were able to get a description of one man.

While investigating, deputies learned there were four additional robberies in the area with the same suspect description. During those four robberies, a second man was present.

The string of robberies occurred across Raleigh, Zebulon, Wendell and Nash County.

Wednesday morning, two search warrants were executed at Lucas’ and Engles’ residences in Johnston County and Nash County, respectively.

Lucas was processed into the Wake County Jail and was given a $750,000.00 bond. Engles was processed into the Wake County Jail and was given a $300,000 bond.
