Two killed in separate Fayetteville shootings

Fayetteville police said that a 22-year-old man was shot to death in a car parked at a strip mall Saturday evening, and a second man was shot to death inside his apartment early Sunday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two people died in separate shootings overnight in Fayetteville, police said Sunday.

Michael Ray Staggs, 22, was found dead in his car parked outside Super Compare Foods in a strip mall at 155 Bonanza Drive around 8 p.m. Saturday, police said. He had been shot in the head, and the car was riddled with bullets.

Police are looking for a white man driving a burgundy Ford F-150 pick-up truck.

Police said a second man was killed in his apartment at 3385 Galleria Drive around 1:25 a.m. Sunday. Keith Lamont Cole, 30, had been shot in the chest.

No suspects have been identified.
