RED OAK, N.C. — Two men were killed Wednesday night in a head-on collision in Nash County, authorities said.

A Pontiac Grand Am was southbound on N.C. Highway 43 near Red Oak when it crossed the center line and collided with a northbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup at about 6:45 p.m., according to the State Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Grand Am, Robert Woodrow Wilson III, 42, of Sharpsburg, and a passenger, Paul Leon Lee, 53, of Rocky Mount, died in the crash, authorities said.

Another passenger in the car and an occupant of the pickup were injured, but their conditions weren't known Thursday.

Speed wasn't a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, authorities said.
