Two killed in Fayetteville wreck

Fayetteville police said that two people died early Saturday after their pickup truck struck another vehicle and ran off the road, hitting a bridge.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police said that two people died in a two-vehicle wreck on the All American Expressway, near Skibo Road, early Saturday.

Police said that a 1991 Toyota pickup truck was speeding when its driver tried to pass a 1991 Chevrolet, both northbound on All American around 2:15 a.m. The pickup struck the left rear of the Chevrolet.

The pickup ran off the right side of the road and struck the Skibo Road bridge, police said. The Chevrolet stopped in the roadway.

Police said that both occupants of the pickup were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities haven't been released.

The occupants of the Chevrolet were not injured.

Police were continuing to investigate the wreck.
