Two injured in Fayetteville shooting

Two people were taken into custody late Wednesday after a shooting near the intersection of Owen Drive and Village Drive sent two people to the hospital, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Three people were taken into custody late Wednesday after a shooting near the intersection of Owen Drive and Village Drive sent two people to the hospital, police said. 

Officers responded to the scene, between a Pizza Hut and McDonalds, just before 10 p.m. and found two people injured. Their names were not released, and police said they were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. 

Shortly after the shooting, police officers stopped three suspects on Robeson Street near Whitfield Street.

No other information about the shooting was immediately available.
