Cary, N.C. — J'adore boutique in Cary and Adore Designer Resale Boutique in Raleigh were burglarized on Tuesday morning and the thefts were captured on surveillance video. The owners of the stores said items from both stores were stolen about an hour apart.
Nicole Denny, owner of the J'adore, reported that more than 20 designer purses, at an average value of $800 to $1,000, were stolen from the store. The glass front door of the store was smashed, according to Facebook photos.
Adore's Facebook page said that hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of items from the boutique were stolen.
Denny believes that the two burglaries were done by the same person.
The owners of the boutiques have released surveillance video with the hope that the public can assist the Raleigh Police Department in their investigation.
The video shows a man entering the boutiques, crawling on the floor and then placing what appear to be purses in a black trash bag. He is seen in the video wearing a beanie and face mask and has tattoos on his arms.
Right now Denny said it is already a tough time for business owners, and a burglaries is a huge loss for their businesses.
Officials said that "detectives always look into the possibility that incidents are connected."
J'adore posted on their Facebook that their door is temporarily boarded up as a result of the burglaries.
J'adore is located at 4226 Northwest Cary Parkway in Cary, and Adore Designer Resale Boutique is at 8111 Creedmoor Road, Suite #125 in Raleigh.
