Two corrections officers stabbed at Central Prison, treated for non-life-threatening injuries

Prison officials said one officer was taken for outside medical attention to treat two stab wounds to his leg.

Two corrections officers were stabbed at Central Prison on Tuesday while trying to remove an inmate from his cell.

Prison officials said one officer was taken for outside medical attention to treat two stab wounds to his leg.

The officer is expected to be released later Tuesday night.

The other officer was treated on-site for injuries.

Officials said the inmate pulled a homemade weapon and attacked the two officers.

Local law enforcement is investigating.

An internal investigation has been launched as well.
