Police are investigating a shooting that left two children seriously hurt in Charlotte Monday night.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting that left two children seriously hurt in Charlotte Monday night.
The shooting occurred before 6:15 p.m. along E. Independence Blvd. near Idlewild Road, WCNC Charlotte reports.

At the scene, officers located two juveniles with gunshot wounds. One of those victims is under the age of 5 years old, police said.

Both children were being treated for life-threatening injuries.
