Two charged in fatal Warren County shooting
Warren County authorities have charged two men in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Saturday night in the community of Arcola.
Posted — UpdatedAccording to investigators, Rance Jerome Richardson, 24, and Luchano Johnson, 17, shot and killed Daniel Perez Martinez in the bedroom of a home on N.C. Highway 43.
Witnesses reported that two men entered through the back of the home, hit one of the three people living there in the head with a gun and then shot Perez, authorities said.
Investigators did not speculate on a possible motive for the shooting.
The sheriff's office also said that Martinez lived next to Arcola Lumber Co., where he worked, but it wasn't clear if investigators think that factored into the crime.
Richardson and Johnson were arrested Tuesday, sheriff's office officials said. They are each charged with first-degree murder.
They were being held without bond Thursday at the Warren County jail.
