DURHAM, N.C. — Two students were charged with assault Tuesday after a fight at Durham's Hillside High School, a school spokesman said.

When Principal Hans Lassiter tried to break up the fight, one of the students attempted to choke him, Durham police said.

It took the principal, a coach and a school resource officer to break up the fight between Nyron Robinson, 16, and Savian Turrentine, 17, police said.

Both were charged with assault on school personnel. Robinson was also charged with simple assault. Bond for each was set at $1,000.
