Two charged after explosive devices left on steps of Dudley Fire Department
Two people were arrested Monday night after explosive devices were left at the door of the Dudley Volunteer Fire Department over the weekend.

According to Wayne County officials, Monica Lynn Hunt, 39, and Corey Bernard Manuel, 36, both of 102 Antonio Drive, laid the devices at the entrance of the fire station, located along U.S. Highway 117, around 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Explosive Ordinance Disposal team from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation's Bomb Team were notified and responded to the fire station.
According to officials, a robot was used to move the items away from the station. The items were investigated after they were deemed safe to handle.
Hunt was charged with:
- One count felony possession of weapon of mass death and destruction
- One count felony count manufacture weapon of mass death and destruction
- One felony count transport weapon of mass death and destruction
- Felony conspiracy to commit possession of weapon of mass death and destruction
- Felony conspiracy to commit manufacture weapon of mass death and destruction
- Felony conspiracy to transport weapon of mass death and destruction
Her bond was set at $250,000.00.
Manuel was charged with:
- One count felony possession of weapon of mass death and destruction
- One count felony count manufacture weapon of mass death and destruction
- One felony count transport weapon of mass death and destruction
- Felony conspiracy to commit possession of weapon of mass death and destruction
- Felony conspiracy to commit manufacture weapon of mass death and destruction
- Felony conspiracy to transport weapon of mass death and destruction
- Felony possession of weapon of mass death and destruction by a felon
His bond was set at $300,000.00.
