Two Camp Lejeune Marines were killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday, according to military officials.

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Two Camp Lejeune Marines were killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday, according to military officials.

Sgt. Joshua D. Desforges, 23, of Ludlow, Mass., and Sgt. Donald J. Lamar II, 23, of Fredericksburg, Va., died while supporting combat operations in the Helmand province.

Desforges was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.

Lamar was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
