RALEIGH, N.C. — We're in for two days of sunshine before a chance for rain returns.

Sunday and Monday will be cold and brisk with bright blue skies. With a high of 53 degrees in Raleigh, Sunday will feel like winter again after a much milder weekend.

Monday will be milder but cool with a high around 59 degrees. Sunshine should be abundant both days, and it will be a great time to be outdoors.

Rain could move into the area by lunchtime Tuesday and continue throughout the afternoon.

WRAL meteorologist Peta Sheerwood said the rain will arrive quickly and leave quickly, with the weather clearing as temperatures drop overnight.

Temperatures will plunge into the low 30s Tuesday night and early Wednesday, and winter jackets will be a necessity for Wednesday's commute.

Wednesday and Thursday will be dry but cool, with highs in the low 50s. The weekend will be warmer, with highs in the mid 60s for Friday and Saturday, and some rain possible.
