Two arrested in connection to Robeson County shooting of mother, daughter
Two people have been arrested in connection to the shooting of a woman and her 9-year-old daughter, the Robeson County Sheriff's Office said on Monday.
Posted — UpdatedChristian K. Locklear, 21, from Pembroke and a 16-year-old teenager from Lumberton were arrested by investigators on Monday.
He's facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony conspiracy and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.
Sosa is being treated for life-threatening injuries, officials said. Her daughter was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
Authorities said Locklear was placed under a $1.5 million secured bond. They have not yet released information about what charges he is facing.
“Senseless acts such as this horrific incident cannot be tolerated," said Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins.
"To recklessly shoot at a moving vehicle for absolutely no cause is beyond comprehension," he said. "Any citizen in this county should feel safe in their travels. "
Investigators are still looking for two other teenagers who are facing charges in this case.
