BLOWING ROCK, N.C. — Events are back at Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock, and the amusement park has activities planned through the end of the year.

Here's what's on the schedule:

Fireworks Extravaganza on July 4
K9s In Flight Frisbee Dogs from July 24 to JUly 26 and July 29 to Aug. 1
Riders in the Sky, Aug. 14 and Aug. 15
Railroad Heritage Weekend, Aug. 28 and Aug. 29
Ghost Train, Friday and Saturday nights, Sept. 24 to Oct. 30
Tweetsie Christmas, select evenings, Nov. 19 through Dec. 30

Tweetsie is a classic North Carolina destination, first opened in 1957. In addition to the special events, you'll also find a train ride featuring a western-themed slapstick comedy show, rides, animals and other performances. It's about three hours from Raleigh. Check the website for details.
