Truck hits house on Gorman Street
Gorman Street in Raleigh was temporarily closed early Wednesday after a truck hit a house and downed a power line.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — Gorman Street in Raleigh was temporarily closed early Wednesday after a truck hit a house and downed a power line.
Police said the driver ran from the scene after his truck wrecked in the 1600 block of Gorman Street around 4 a.m. Police were still searching for the driver about two hours later.
The truck struck the support of a porch and a grill on top of it.
Progress Energy crews were working to repair the power line. The 1500 and 1600 blocks of Gorman Street were closed while crews worked.
