Truck driver escapes after water tanker overturns in Johnston County

The truck ran off Buffalo Road, overcorrected and overturned, WRAL News learned at the scene.

The driver was able to climb our through a rear window before emergency crews responded. He was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Buffalo Road was closed while crews worked to remove the truck, which was badly damaged.

At 9:30 a.m., crews were still working to clear the road.

The truck was carrying hundreds of gallons of water when it crashed, officials said.
