WADE, N.C. — A tractor trailer carrying boxes of produce overturned Sunday in Cumberland County.
According to officials with the State Highway Patrol, around 2 a.m., the truck went off Interstate 95 near Exit 61 for Wade-Stedman Road and into the median, hitting a guardrail before overcorrecting and overturning. The 60-year-old driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Dozens of produce boxes full of okra littered the road, which was temporarily closed.
