RALEIGH, N.C.Trophy Brewing has teamed up with Sysco foods and Bridge the Gap Mission to offer hospitality workers free groceries.

"We knew that we wanted to do the thing that we do best and that's reach out and connect with that community and help," co-owner Chris Powers said.

Those needing groceries should go to Trophy Brewing's Maywood Avenue location Monday through Saturday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

"They can just say they're in restaurant or hospitality industry and we can we run inside, grab a box, put together any things that are frozen or need to be kept cold, throw it all into the box and send them on their way," Powers said.

Since the effort started, Trophy has distributed about 1,400 boxes of groceries.

"To have someone come in and get a box of food that can maybe change their life for a week, it’s humbling," tap room manager Olive Koch said.

While Trophy Tap and Table is closed now, but Trophy continues to offer curbside pick-up at its Trophy Brewing locations and State of Beer. Plus, Trophy Brewing on Morgan Street is offering "Pay it Forward" pizzas, where people can buy a pizza for someone in need. At State of Beer, people can do the same with sandwiches.
